You can confirm recording is running without leaving the OR. The room connectivity indicator at the top of the room page reports the live status of the Theator units in that room.
What the indicator tells you
- Recording status — whether recording is currently active, and which video input is being recorded. This is the direct confirmation that the procedure is being documented.
- Video signal — for each configured capture device, whether a signal is arriving. When a signal is present you see a thumbnail of the most recent frame; when it is not, you see a No Signal warning along with the last time a signal was seen.
- Unit presence and status — whether units are mapped to the room at all, and whether each one is online. An offline unit is labelled Unit Offline with the last time it was online.
- Network quality and pedal connection — network performance (low, medium, or high) and whether the foot pedal is connected, if your room uses one.
Room connectivity indicator covers each of these in detail, with screenshots of every state.

The room page's Live View streams the procedure in real time, so seeing the surgery on screen is itself confirmation that video is reaching Theator. See How Does Live Streaming Work?.
Seeing "No Signal" or "Unit Offline" mid-procedure? The recording may not be capturing. Flag it to your team so it can be checked while the case is still running — once the procedure ends, the footage cannot be recovered retroactively.
