Understanding Your Performance Profile

What is the Performance Profile?

The Performance Profile (formerly Surgeon Analytics) is your personal analytics dashboard on Theator. It gives you a comprehensive view of your surgical activity, practice patterns, and outcomes over time. You can access it by clicking Performance Profile in the sidebar or navigating to /performance-profile.

Switching Between Views

The Performance Profile has two main views:

• Surgeon view (/performance-profile/surgeon) — Shows your individual metrics across all procedure types.
• Procedure view (/performance-profile/procedure) — Lets you drill into a specific procedure type for more detailed analysis.

Use the toggle at the top of the page to switch between them.

Case Volume Overview

At the top of the dashboard, you will see a summary of your total case volume. This section includes:

• Total cases recorded within the selected time period
• Volume by procedure type — a breakdown showing how many cases you performed for each procedure
• Volume over time — a trend chart showing your case count over weeks or months, helping you spot patterns in your surgical activity

Surgical Practices

The Surgical Practices section shows your adoption rates for evidence-based best practices. Each practice is displayed with a percentage indicating how often it was observed in your cases. You will also see a department comparison, so you can understand how your adoption rate compares to your peers.

This is a valuable tool for identifying practices where you excel and areas where there may be room for improvement.

Outcome Comparison

The Outcome Comparison section benchmarks your key metrics against two reference points:

• Department average — The mean across all surgeons in your department
• Top 10% — The performance of the highest-performing surgeons

Metrics shown in this section include:

• Operative duration — Average time from start to finish
• Length of stay — Post-operative hospital stay duration
• Complication rate — Percentage of cases with documented complications
• Idle time — Non-operative time during the procedure

Each metric is displayed with a visual indicator so you can quickly see where you stand relative to your department.

Case List

At the bottom of the page, you will find a chronological case list showing all your cases within the selected time range. You can click on any case to open it directly in the Case page Overview for detailed review.

Tips for Using the Performance Profile

• Adjust the date range at the top of the page to focus on a specific period.
• Use the Procedure view to analyze metrics for a single procedure type in depth.
• Check Surgical Practices regularly to track your progress on best practice adoption.
• Compare outcomes to identify areas for focused improvement.

The Performance Profile is designed to give you a clear, data-driven picture of your surgical practice so you can reflect, improve, and celebrate your progress.
