Overview
Theator is available on iOS and Android devices, providing a native-like mobile experience optimized for on-the-go access. Whether you want to quickly review a case between procedures or check your performance metrics, the mobile app gives you the tools you need from your phone or tablet.
How to Install and Access
The Theator mobile app can be accessed in the following ways:
- Download from the App Store or Google Play -- Search for "Theator" and install the app on your device.
- Open in a mobile browser -- You can also access Theator through your mobile browser by navigating to the platform URL. The interface will automatically adapt to your screen size.
Sign in using the same credentials you use on desktop. If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), the mobile app supports that as well.
Mobile Navigation
On a phone, the main navigation is a bottom tab bar with five tabs:
- Home -- Your personalized feed of recent cases and activity.
- Rooms -- View operating room status and live activity.
- AI assistant -- Ask the AI Assistant questions about your cases or surgical topics.
- Schedule -- See your own cases, one day at a time.
- More -- Everything that does not have its own tab, including Collections and Performance.
The Schedule tab
Schedule shows the cases where you are listed as the surgeon, with times shown in your hospital's time zone.
- Tap Schedule in the bottom tab bar. Today's cases appear first.
- Tap a day in the week strip at the top to see that day's cases. Days that have cases are marked.
- Tap a case to open it.
If your hospital has live viewing, a case that is in progress shows a Watch live button. Tap it to open the live view of that operating room.
The More tab
Tap More to reach pages that do not have their own tab:
| Row | What it opens | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Collections | Your case collections | Everyone |
| Performance | Your Performance Profile | Everyone |
| Monitoring | System monitoring | Admins, venue admins, and venue IT admins |
| Room Management | Room setup | Admins, venue admins, and venue IT admins |
More also contains User settings, Invite a colleague, Academy, Help center, and Sign out.
Features Available on Mobile
The mobile experience includes the core features you use most:
- Browse cases -- Scroll through your case list, search for specific cases, and open case details.
- Check your schedule -- Use the Schedule tab to see your cases by day.
- Watch recordings -- Play back surgical recordings with full video controls.
- View your Performance Profile -- Open More > Performance to review your surgical metrics, trends, and benchmarks.
- Access the AI Assistant -- Ask questions about your cases or get surgical insights on the go.
- Receive push notifications -- Stay informed about new recordings, shared cases, comments, and other activity.
Key Differences from Desktop
While the mobile app covers the most important workflows, there are a few differences compared to the desktop experience:
- Simplified navigation -- The mobile app uses a bottom tab bar instead of the full sidebar navigation. Pages without their own tab, such as Collections and Performance, are under More.
- Optimized layouts -- Pages are reformatted for smaller screens, with some advanced features accessible through menus rather than being displayed at all times.
- Touch interactions -- Video playback and timeline navigation are adapted for touch gestures.
For the full feature set, including advanced analytics, system administration, and detailed configuration, use the desktop version of Theator.
