What Are Snapshots
Snapshots are high-quality still images captured from the procedure video. They become part of the case record and are useful for:
- Clinical documentation
- Teaching
- Conference presentations
- Research review
Capturing Snapshots During a Procedure
Depending on your setup, you may be able to capture snapshots in real time using:
-
Endoscope Button
- Pressing the capture button on supported endoscopes sends a snapshot directly to Theator.
-
USB Foot Pedal
- A connected foot pedal allows hands-free capture, which helps maintain sterility and convenience.
-
Voice Commands
- With a Bluetooth microphone, you can trigger snapshots using voice commands.
Capturing Snapshots After the Procedure
You can also create snapshots from any moment in the recorded video.
Steps:
- Open the case page.
- Use the timeline or player to reach the desired frame.
- Select Take a snapshot.
- The new image appears in the Snapshot Library next to the video.
Snapshots Library
The Snapshots Library:
- Shows all snapshots associated with the case
- Allows you to open, name, download, or export each snapshot
Naming Snapshots
After capturing a snapshot, you can give it a clear name.
Examples:
- Cecum reached
- Polyp resection completed
- Anastomosis final view
Good names make it easier to find snapshots later and to use them in teaching sets.
Downloading Snapshots
You can download snapshots from the Snapshot Library to use in:
- Presentations
- Personal teaching collections
Exporting Snapshots to the EMR
In many deployments, you can export selected snapshots directly to the electronic medical record.
This enhances:
- Operative documentation
- Post procedure reports
- Communication with other providers
