How to Share Feedback in Theator

Why Your Feedback Matters

Theator gets better the more you tell us what's working and what isn't. Throughout the app you'll find quick ways to flag when something looks off — or to confirm when it looks right. Your feedback helps us improve the platform's AI and accuracy.

There are four places to share feedback today.

Leave a Note on an Operative Report

If a line in your operative report is wrong, missing something, or not worded the way you would write it, tell us.

1. Open the case's operative report on a computer.
2. Select the text you want to comment on, then click Give feedback. For a note on the whole report, click Give feedback in the toolbar above the report with nothing selected.
3. The case's AI Assistant opens on the Report log, with the text you selected quoted above the note box. The report is locked while you write, so nothing you type changes it.
4. Write your note, for example what the report should say instead, then click Send note. To make it a note on the whole report instead, remove the quoted text.

To stop without sending, click Cancel. If you have typed something, Theator asks before discarding your note.

Where your note goes

• The Theator team sees your note.
• A marker appears next to the text you commented on. Click it to open your note in the Report log.
• To correct the report, edit the text in the report. A note tells us what to fix.

See replies from the team

Replies appear under your note in the Report log, and the note shows its status:

• Sent: the team has your note.
• Replied: someone on the Theator team answered.
• Addressed: the team has handled it.

To open the Report log later, click Chat with AI in the toolbar above the report, then open Report log, pinned at the top of the conversation list.

The Report log is the case's report history: AI drafts, edits, exports, notes, and replies. Anyone who can open the case can read it. You can add notes there, but not chat; to ask the assistant a question, start a New conversation.

On a phone, open the case's AI Assistant and choose Report log from the menu. You can read replies there and leave a note on the whole report.

Rate an AI Assistant Answer

When you ask the AI Assistant a question, you can tell us whether the answer was helpful.

1. Open the AI Assistant and ask a question.
2. When the response finishes, hover over it to reveal the feedback icons.
3. Click thumbs-up ("Good response") if the answer was helpful — that's it, no extra step.
4. Click thumbs-down ("Bad response") if it wasn't.
5. A short form opens where you can describe what could have been better, then click Submit.

After clicking thumbs-down, you can add an optional note explaining what went wrong before submitting.

Your rating helps us improve the assistant's accuracy and the quality of its answers.

Report an Annotation Issue

Theator automatically marks the steps and events on each case's video timeline. If a marker looks wrong — wrong label, wrong timing, or it shouldn't be there — let us know.

1. Open a case and look at the timeline next to the video.
2. Find the annotation (step or event) you want to comment on.
3. Click thumbs-up ("Annotation looks correct") to confirm it's accurate, or thumbs-down ("Report annotation issue") if something's off.

4. If you clicked thumbs-down, describe what's wrong — for example, the wrong label or timing. This step is optional.
5. Submit your feedback. You'll see a "Thanks for your feedback" confirmation.

Flag a Best-Practice Result

For cases where Theator detects surgical best practices, the case page lists the practices it identified in the Surgical practices panel. If one of those results doesn't look right, you can flag it.

1. Open a case that has detected surgical practices.
2. Click Something's not right? near the top of the case page.
3. In the Help us improve window, type what's incorrect.
4. Click Submit. You'll see a "Feedback was sent" confirmation.
