What Are Insights?
Insights are AI-generated annotations that appear on the surgical video timeline within the Case page Overview. They automatically identify and highlight clinically relevant moments throughout a procedure, so you can quickly review your cases without watching the entire recording.
How Insights Work
When a surgical video is processed, Theator's AI models analyze the footage and annotate the timeline with structured information, including:
- Procedure Steps — The major phases of the surgery, broken down into a step-by-step sequence.
- Surgical Events — Specific moments of clinical significance, such as best practice adherence, notable techniques, or complications.
- Milestones — Key markers in the procedure timeline that help orient your review.
Each Insight is timestamped on the timeline. Clicking on any Insight takes you directly to that moment in the video, making it fast and efficient to navigate the case.
Understanding the Color Coding
The timeline uses color coding to give you immediate clinical context:
- Green highlights indicate positive events, such as adherence to best practices or successful execution of critical steps.
- Red highlights call out complications or concerns, such as a detected injury, leak, or deviation from expected workflow.
This color coding allows you to scan the timeline at a glance and focus your review on the moments that matter most.
