Filter Cases on Find Cases
Use the filters (advanced search) when you want to explore or narrow down a larger set of cases. For example, you can see only the cases in your specialty, only robotic cases, or only your own cases.
- In the left sidebar, select Find cases.
- Use the Filters panel on the left side of the page. The results update as soon as you change a filter. There is no Search button to click.
- Set Case date to choose the time period, then add any other filters.
- To start over, click Clear all at the top of the panel.
- Use quick bar search when you know exactly what you are looking for.
- Use filters when you want to build a list, track patterns, or search by multiple conditions.
Filters always in view
| Filter | What it finds |
|---|---|
| Case date | Cases in a time period |
| Case | One case by its hospital case ID. While a hospital case ID is set, the other filters are greyed out. See Find a Case by Its Hospital Case ID. |
| Participants | Cases by surgeon or other participant. Tick Only my cases to see only the cases you are listed on. |
| Patient | Cases by patient ID or patient name |
| Procedure types | Cases of a specific procedure type |
More filters, in groups
Below the filters in view are four groups. Click a group to open it. When a group has filters set, it shows how many are selected.
| Group | Filters |
|---|---|
| Procedure | Procedure type category, Specialty, Surgical approach (for example Robotic, Laparoscopy, Open Surgery) |
| People & place | Department, Site, Room (with an Only connected rooms checkbox), Collections |
| Patient | Patient sex, Diagnosis (diagnosis name or ICD code), Indication for surgery, Patient age (a range in years) |
| Case details | Visit (visit ID), Timeline search (intraoperative events and comments), With comments |
Filters that list values, such as Specialty, show up to 50 of the most common matching values from cases you can view. Type part of a value to search for it. If it still does not appear, no case you can view has that value yet.
See only your specialty's cases
- On Find cases, open the Procedure group.
- Click Add specialty and select your specialty.
- To narrow further, add Procedure types or a Surgical approach.
On a smaller screen or a phone
- When the AI Assistant panel is open on a smaller screen, the filter panel folds into a round filter button on the left. Click it to show the filters again. A number on the button shows how many filters are set.
- On a phone, tap Add filter to open the filters in a drawer, then tap the button at the bottom of the drawer to go back to the results. It shows the number of matching cases, for example Show 12 cases.
Save Your Search
When the filters look right, click Save search to create a smart collection (a reusable saved filter). You can optionally pin it as a homepage tab (up to 3). See Smart Collections.
