Performance Profile: Overview and Guide

What is the Performance Profile?

The Performance Profile (formerly Surgeon Analytics) is your personal analytics dashboard on Theator. It gives you a comprehensive view of your surgical activity, practice patterns, and outcomes over time. You can access it by clicking Performance Profile in the sidebar, or by navigating to https://app.theator.io/performance-profile.

General and Evaluations Tabs

If your organization has the resident scorecard feature enabled, the Performance Profile shows two tabs at the top of the page:

• General — your case volume, surgical practices, outcome metrics, and case list, described below.
• Evaluations — your evaluation scorecard, with its own filters in place of the time-range selector. See How to Build an EPA Portfolio in Theator.

If the feature is not enabled, you see the General view with no tabs.

In the General view, use the time-range selector at the top of the page to choose Past 30 days, Past 3 months (the default), Past 6 months, Past Year, or All Time.

Case Volume

The top of the General view summarizes your recorded cases for the selected period:

• Case volume — a doughnut chart of your recorded cases by procedure type, with Total recorded cases below it.
• Recorded case volume by dates — a bar chart of your recorded cases across the selected period.
• Recorded cases by category — one tile per procedure type showing the number of recorded cases and its share of the total. A case can belong to more than one category, so the tiles can add up to more than your total recorded cases.

Surgical Practices

The Surgical Practices section lists the evidence-based practices that apply to your cases. Each row shows:

• The practice name and its family
• A trend graph of your adoption over the selected period
• RELEVANT CASES — how many of your cases the practice applies to
• ADOPTION LEVEL — the percentage of those relevant cases in which the practice was observed

The legend shows Surgeon avg only. This section reports your own adoption and does not compare it with other surgeons. To compare adoption across surgeons, use the Quality tab in Department Analytics.

Why a practice might be missing

• A practice appears only when it has more than 5 relevant cases in the selected period.
• Practices are sorted by adoption level, highest first, and shown 5 per page. Use the page controls below the list to see more.
• If practices apply to your cases but none has more than 5 relevant cases yet, you see No surgical practices to show with the message Not enough data for analysis yet. A longer time range can bring in enough cases.
• If no practices come back for the selected period at all, you see No surgical practices to show with the message Try a different date range.

On desktop, select Explore on any row to open that practice's analysis in a new browser tab.

Outcome Metrics Comparison

The Outcome metrics comparison section has three tabs: Case duration, Length of stay, and Idle time.

Each procedure type you performed gets its own chart, titled with the procedure name and your number of cases, with the procedure types you perform most listed first. Each chart compares two bars:

• Surgeon avg — your average for that procedure type
• Organization avg — your organization's average for the same procedure type

Length of stay is shown in days; case duration and idle time are shown in hours. The organization bar appears only when a comparison value is available. This section does not show a top-10% or percentile benchmark.

If a tab has no data for the selected period, you see There is currently no data for followed by the tab name. Try a different time range.

Case List

At the bottom of the page, the Cases list shows your cases for the selected period, most recent first. Use the Recorded / Not recorded toggle to switch between recorded cases (the default) and cases that were not recorded. Click any case to open it in the Case page Overview.
