Performance Profile: Overview and Guide

Welcome to the Performance Profile page, a comprehensive tool designed to provide surgeons with a detailed overview of their performance metrics. This page aggregates essential data into an easy-to-navigate format, allowing you to monitor your performance, compare with peers, and identify areas for improvement.

What is the Performance Profile?

The Performance Profile is a dedicated space in the Theator platform where surgeons can access a full 360-degree view of their performance. Available at the /performance-profile route in the sidebar navigation, this feature provides a detailed breakdown of case volumes, surgical practices adoption, outcome metrics, and a list of all performed cases. The goal is to help surgeons gain insights into their practices and make data-driven decisions to improve patient outcomes.

The Performance Profile offers two sub-views:

• Surgeon (/performance-profile/surgeon) — Focused on your individual metrics as a surgeon across all procedure types.
• Procedure (/performance-profile/procedure) — Focused on metrics broken down by specific procedure types.

Navigating the Performance Profile

1. Case Volume Overview

The Case Volume Overview section provides insights into your surgical activity:

• Total Case Volume: Displays the total number of cases you have performed.
• Volume per Procedure Type: Shows a breakdown of your cases by procedure type, helping you understand your case mix.
• Case Volume Over Time: Illustrates your case volume trends over a selected period, allowing you to track your surgical activity over time.

2. Surgical Practices Adoption

In this section, you can view the adoption rates of various surgical practices that are relevant to your specialty:

• Adoption Rates: See how often you adopt each surgical practice.
• Department Comparison: Compare your adoption rates with the department average to understand how your practices align with your peers.

3. Outcome Comparison

The Outcome Comparison section provides a detailed analysis of key performance metrics for each procedure type:

• Case Duration: Average time taken per case.
• Length of Stay: Average recovery time for patients post-surgery.
• Complication Rate: Percentage of cases with reported complications.
• Idle Time: Time spent inactive during procedures.
• Comparison Metrics: Each outcome is compared against the department average and the top 10% average, providing context on your performance relative to your peers.

4. Case List

The Case List provides a chronological list of all the cases you have performed:

• Sorted by Date: All cases are sorted by date, allowing for quick reference and easy access to detailed case data.
• Detailed Case View: Click on any case to view specific details and performance metrics associated with that case.

How to Use the Performance Profile

1. Access the Page: Navigate to Performance Profile in the left sidebar.
2. Choose Your View: Select either the Surgeon or Procedure sub-view depending on how you want to analyze your data.
3. Review Your Performance: Use the various sections to get a detailed view of your case volumes, surgical practices adoption, and outcome metrics.
4. Compare and Analyze: Utilize the comparative features to benchmark your performance against department averages and top performers.
